INNOVATE - Algorand Blockchain Hackathon

Be creative and build unique distributed applications (dApps) utilizing the power of the Algorand blockchain. Design and develop dApps that add value to the ecosystem and solve problems that blockchain technology uniquely solves. There is a lot of room for innovation here so we are looking forward to your unusual, out-of-the-box idea. Put on your thinking cap and submit Algorand blockchain-based solutions and features that you believe in.

Example:

• Build a decentralized naming service that allows multiple things such as addresses, multisig addresses, and website names to be decentralized, using the Algorand blockchain. The primary goal of this project would be to decentralize Algorand addresses.
• Build a blockchain based game. Create a DAO (decentralized autonomous organization). Convert a existing Web2 application into a Web3 dApp.

The finance industry has already witnessed various changes and disruptions caused by FinTechs (Financial Technologies) such as mobile banking, mobile payment, and biometrics. Blockchain and cryptocurrencies have become a known phenomenon in recent years, but their real disruption potential in the financial industry has yet to be seized.

Your task is to explore the possibilities in the FinTech domain and create innovative and meaningful finance-related applications or solutions using the  Algorand blockchain.

Examples:

• Financial use: explicitly geared towards financial applications such as lending, exchange, derivative / synthetic asset issuance, asset management, etc.
• Permissionless: open-source; anyone can use or build on top of the projects without asking permission from a third party
• Pseudonymous: no need for people to reveal their identities to use the protocols
• Non-custodial: not reliant on third-party facilitators
• Decentralized governance: decisions and administrative privileges are not held by a single entity or a credible path exists towards removing them.

Blockchain for digital assets revolves around the creation of unique digital representations of assets that go beyond traditional financial instruments. Use the Algorand Blockchain to build solutions around digital assets.

Examples: Digitized art, music, video, and copyrights using the Algorand blockchain and a distributed storage system such as IPFS (InterPlanetary File System).
